The sixth installment in CI Games’ sniper franchise is just weeks away from its release and the studio shared a trailer with all the general characteristics of its playability.
The video will help anyone who does not know the saga to get an idea of what they had in mind for this installment. Also for those of us who know it since Sniper Ghost Warrior has changed a lot over the years and is now a title based on contracts or missions instead of being open world.
The story of Sniper Ghost Warrior
CI Games’ story with this saga is one of effort. The first installment, Sniper: Art of Victory, is one of the worst-rated games on Metacritic. But the study went ahead with Sniper Ghost Warrior 1 and 2 that raised the score quite a bit and, above all, sold very well.
Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, meanwhile, was released on a AAA budget but it didn’t sell well and critics didn’t like the open-world approach. As a result of this, the Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts sub-series was created with a first installment that was best valued in 2019.
Contracts to fulfill
In this context, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is released, a delivery that bets on being a continuity with the previous one and that goes through a structure of fulfilling missions or contracts to earn money and buy equipment improvements. The main story takes place in the Middle East and revolves around a terrorist tyrant who must be stopped.
For this there will be main and secondary contracts and a great variability of gadgets that will help us fulfill the missions. The main gameplay is with a sniper rifle, but we can also use drones, turrets and short-distance weapons for certain contexts.
For CI Games, the biggest novelty is the possibility of shooting targets more than a kilometer away, the wind, the drop of the bullet, and the type of ammunition will have to be taken into account. The saga has always been sold as mine sniper game and this installment aims to be.
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 will be released on July 5 on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC. It will come to PS5 later.
