Electronic Arts has finally revealed the new title in the Battlefield saga. Many expected it to be Battlefield 6 but finally the number that will accompany it will be 2042, which makes us suppose that the title will be located in that year, so we move away from World War II to return to a futuristic story.
There will be no major changes at the playable level, we are still talking about a first-person shooter with a campaign and an online mode that will receive almost all the attention of players and developers. And we already have some details of online mode such as the return of the Conquest Breakthrough and Hazard Zone modes, as well as the news that there will now be a maximum of 128 simultaneous players, a number that doubles what was seen in Battlefield V.
There is talk of a total of four classes, including the specialist that will have certain fixed characteristics, while the rest of the classes will be customizable. For their part, they also promise great maps in different environments, new weapons, gadgets, vehicles, the possibility of calling a robotic dog, a hook and a flight suit like the one we see in the image in this article.

Regarding the story, nothing was revealed and it gives the impression that we will not have a campaign this time. The specialists will offer the role of telling personal stories, but there will not be a main story as such, which is a difference from the previous installment.
The game will have multiple editions: the standard one will cost $ 60 on PS4, Xbox One and PC, $ 10 more on PS5 and Series X / S. The Gold Edition costs $ 90 on PC and $ 100 on all consoles and includes Early Access to the game, 1 year of DLCs and a next-gen pack, meaning we bought the PS4 and PS5 edition at the same time. And the Ultimate Edition brings the same added to a pack of skins for weapons, character, vehicle and a digital art book along with the soundtrack, it will cost 110 dollars on PC and 120 on consoles.
These one-year Goid and Ultimate Edition DLCs will be four specialists, four battle passes, and three epic skin packs.
Finally, pre-purchasing any of these editions gives you Early Access to the beta, the Baku ACB-90 knife, a weapon charm, a player card, and a name tag (digital).
Battlefield 2042 is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and PC on October 22.
