Genshin Impact version 1.1 is getting some special and dedicated events.
The latest MiHoYo update to their open world RPG saw the addition of new story content, characters and missions and with version 1.1, the team behind Genshin Impact continues their updates by adding a new playable character, as well as new events throughout December to celebrate the release of version 1.1. Let’s dive in.
Zhongli is from the Liyue region and is the latest character to be added to the game roster. It controls the Geo item and has a five-star rarity. Players who reach Adventure Rank 40 and complete Chapter 1: Act 3 “A New Star Is Coming” will be able to unlock Zhongli’s story mission “Antiqua Story Chapter” using a story key. The new mission will be added to the game today, so keep your eyes peeled.

Along with the new character missions, you can also take part in a new sliding challenge. The event kicks off on December 4 and runs through December 14, giving you a chance to win a variety of unique rewards for a limited time.
During the event, four-star weapons and event-exclusive five-star weapons will receive a massive drop rate increase in what is called ‘Epitome Invocation’, a new type of wish.
The daily login events will continue as usual, but the Seize the Day event will give you a chance to earn new rewards each time you log in from today until December 16.
A new character test event will be added today that will run until December 22 and will allow you to test specific characters for a limited time, including new characters, Zhongli and Xinyan. Travelers who complete the challenge will also receive rewards.
MiHoYo has confirmed that the ‘While It’s Warm’ event is coming soon and, we can guess, that it will have the holiday season as its theme.
