It's a lot of fun developing the first Fa Fail Tail video game ever to hit PlayStation 4. We are working on it under the auspices of Brashant Mashima-san, the creator of the anime and manga series, delivering the best experience capturing both size and character strength – from Taine Tail members such as the blazing Natsu Dragneel to all the demons, and black witches and cats (Fun laws!) that help make the series popular with fans around the world.
One of the things that really excites me, though, is that with the help of Mashima-san, we actually put on a fantastic 3D model of the Fairy Tail town in Magnolia, a city that can explore the feet, you get everything from the Feather Tail Guild to Lucy's house to Easter special eggs like the hidden candy of Nicolaus.
After these scenes, the game designers worked for six months to create all the bricks, bridge, and construction you would be able to explore in the game. We are looking for any other sights we can find in the city to put it as accurately as possible. We read comics, pulled out scenes in anime, looked at anime setups, and even managed to find reference data on old images to help us along the way. From there, we put everything in 3D, then headed back to Mashima-san, and he was able to give us some tips to help get rid of the final plan. In the end, we created the ultimate working RPG design, while at the same time combining the functionality of the right visual elements – including all the symbolic structures and marks you want – in a powerful and moving way. After months and months of hard work, we were finally able to move the image we had in our mind into a lovely and waterfront city and you will now be able to see our unique RPG.
I still remember the amazing feelings I had as a Fairy Tail fan for the first time running around Magnolia, and I am sure that fans will feel the same as they explore this vibrant city and talk to various actors to find out all there is to know about the Fairy Tail organization. At the Fairy Tail organization you will be able to develop areas such as shops and labs, and then refer to Lucy's house for change of clothes or learn about different times in many of her picture books. But that's not all, depending on how things work in the city, you can find yourself having a fierce battle on the streets of Magnolia!
Check out the special video above to see our 3D version of Magnolia, and check it out this spring when File Tail arrives in theaters.
From the streets of Magnolia to see how things like Fairy Tail organization work in our RPG, we hope that fans will enjoy our game as they become anime and comedy throughout the years. We really look forward to presenting to fans something special.
