IO Interactive has presented the new location Hitman 3 called chongqing through its official YouTube channel and has revealed some of the improvements that the game will have on the new generation of consoles.
The study suggests that most of what they show will also reach PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but that high resolutions such as 4K and 60 FPS will be exclusive to PS5 and Xbox Series X. Furthermore, everything they mentioned will also be part Hitman 1 and 2 that, remember, have been indirectly remastered for this new installment.
Engine requirements
The first thing they showed is how its proprietary graphics engine, Glaciar requires creating all the scenarios from scratch. Now that they have gotten better with it they were able to take a step forward with lighting and reflections, exemplifying this with the Chongqing night lights and their reflection on the wet asphalt.
The transition animations for Agent 47 have also been improved, so we will see how he moves behind coverage and in other situations in a more fluid and natural way. This also includes actions like taking an NPC or hiding bodies.
Speaking of NPCs, a scenario of a social gathering was shown where there are many of these. According to IO they have improved artificial intelligence a lot, so we will see more characters on the screen with a more natural behavior.
Finally, the aforementioned 60 FPS and 4K will join HDR as exclusive features of the new generation. Both the PS5 and Series X will receive an update that will add support for Ray Tracing, although this will arrive after the launch of the game.
Hitman 3, which includes the locations of Hitman 1 and 2, will arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X / S and PC in January.
