miHoYo has finally revealed what is coming to Genshin Impact in update 1.2. Several map images were leaked a few days ago revealing new regions on the map and it appears that the image was real as today we were able to see more than one snowy region that could be seen in the leaks.
Those who presented the news were Paimon’s voice actors, Corina Boettger, and the protagonist or Traveler, Zach Aguilar. There were no developers in the stream, which indicates that the strategy of miHoYo is that we continue to improve our bond with the characters in the game. These are the core of GI, so it seems like a logical strategy.

The stream lasted almost an hour but the most important trailers are accumulated in the first 15 minutes. The game will receive a new area called Dragonspine, two new characters and a new game mechanic. This patch or update will be called “The Chalk Prince and the Dragon and, according to Paimon, we will have to explore it to find out what really happens there.
And is that a large part of the stream was dedicated to QoL changes such as interface improvements and other modifications that make the experience much more comfortable but do not delve into the content that will arrive in a couple of weeks.
What we know is that the new characters are named Albedo and Ganyu. The first is an alchemist with a sword who can use the power of the earth element, in addition, he will have a special ability with a flower that raises him above the earth and allows him to attack from the air. His personality seems stoic and contrasts with the rest of the male characters.
Ganyu is half human, half adeptus, so he has horns on his head and resistance to cold. He carries a bow that he can “charge” to shoot arrows with the element of frost. His mission in the area is diplomatic and he was also serious in his trailer.
The new zone, meanwhile, will offer four-star weapons and will hit your group with the frozen state. You must use a torch or take shelter in a place away from the cold to lose this state.
Genshin Impact 1.2 will be released for free on December 23.
