Astro’s Playroom is a game that is integrated into the PlayStation 5 operating system. This fun game works at the same time as a technical demo that shows the benefits of the new console, while players navigate with the new unofficial mascot of the system. In an interview with British magazine Edge, the game’s designer would be considering expanding the game with a sequel or more content.
The head of Japan StudioNicolas Doucet said he has not decided on what the development team will create next, be it a new title or more material for Astro. When asked if there would be a possibility of a DLC, Doucet stated that everything will depend on the reception of the users.
“So far, we have heard very positive reactions from the media and we are very happy. But everything will depend on the consumer’s experience ”, Doucet commented. The head of the studio said he would like to hear from casual gamers and newcomers experiencing a video game for the first time.
“If the character gains popularity and proves that people are having fun with him, an extension or sequel could be a route to follow.”. Doucet concluded.
Astro’s Playroom is available on PlayStation 5 and comes with its own set of trophies.
