A few days ago PlayStation announced that the next June 4 would finally show the ‘future of video games‘, That is, it would reveal part of the titles that will be available for the PS5.

However, recent events have shocked the world and PlayStation is convinced that this is not the time to celebrate.

Of course, we are referring to the unfortunate event related to George Floyd, an African-American citizen whose murder by the police has sparked major marches of discontent in the United States.

The video game industry has rallied with the population to protest and it was probably only a matter of time before PlayStation did the same.

PlayStation thinks it's not a good time to talk about the PS5

Sony postponed this event through a post on their social networks.

‘We decided to postpone the PlayStation 5 event that was planned for June 4.

While we understand that players around the world are excited to learn about PS5 games, we don't feel like this is a time to celebrate, and for now, we want to step aside and allow more important voices to be heard. ‘

While this event was something all players look forward to, it certainly didn't seem like the right time to do it.

It should be noted that Sony has not yet revealed the new date for this event where we will learn more about the PS5. We will keep you informed.
