On November 18, 2020, Funimation arrived in Latin America for the first time. However, not all anime fans in the region were able to enjoy Sony’s streaming service. Only Mexico and Brazil were able to enjoy their series list. Now, just over half a year later, Funimation will finally arrive in Colombia, Chile and Peru.
Kaliel Roberts, Product Director of Funimation Global Group, shared the following words regarding the arrival of the streaming service to Colombia, Chile and Peru:
“With the successful launch of Funimation in Brazil and Mexico, we are delighted to be able to
expand to Colombia, Chile and Peru, where we know that anime fans expect more content and community. The user experience we’ve created at Funimation really takes fans on a journey to
through the world of ‘anime’ ”.
When will Funimation arrive in Colombia, Chile and Peru?
Although the Funimation page is already available in Colombia, Chile and Peru, the streaming service will not be activated until July. At the moment, the exact date on which Funimation will arrive in Colombia, Chile and Peru is unknown. It should be noted that the debut of the service will also include the launch of the corresponding application on various platforms. These include mobile devices, Smart TVs, and video game consoles.
How much will the Funimation subscription cost in Colombia, Chile and Peru?
These will be the local prices for the streaming service:
- Colombia: the monthly subscription of Funimation will have a price of $ 22,900 pesos; the annual, $ 229,000 pesos. It is unknown if there will be other plans besides this pair.
- Chile: the monthly subscription of Funimation will have a price of $ 3,900 pesos; the annual, $ 39,000 pesos. It is unknown if there will be other plans besides this pair.
- Peru: the monthly subscription of Funimation will have a price of 19.90 soles; the annual, 199 soles. It is unknown if there will be other plans besides this pair.

It should be noted that several ‘anime’ of Funimation have dubbing in Latin Spanish. Among these is Assassination Classroom, Attack on Titan, Combatants Will Be Dispatched!, My Hero Academia, Steins; Gate, Overlord, Claymore Y Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
