Today’s event saw players fall into Verdansk, but instead of competing to be last standing, they turned into zombies that invaded the map, leading to nuclear weapons being dropped on Verdansk in a climactic cinematic, finally gave us the Call of Duty: Warzone nuke event we’ve been waiting for.
According the official Call of Duty blog, the event will run from noon PT / 3pm ET / 8pm BST on April 21 and will run for about two hours, until 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm BST. There is no news yet on what will replace Verdansk, but the blog states that “due to the Containment Protocol communication efforts, a system-wide upgrade will be required across our entire network. This will require all Operators to manually update their communications unit (for civilians, their “console”).
Based on this, it looks like you’ll need to restart your consoles sometime tonight, probably to download some kind of update. The required update will take place around 8 pm PT / 11 pm ET / 4 am BST.
Warzone Season 3 looks like it will start on April 22 at noon PT / 3pm ET / 8pm BST, but it’s unclear what that means for Verdansk. However, details for Black Ops: Cold War season 3 were revealed earlier this week, giving us a look at the file size this new update weighs, as well as the new operators we can expect to see in. Treyarch’s shooter game along with new multiplayer maps and the return of Sticks and Stones mode.
