Today our game Call of the sea has launched for the whole world and we are tremendously excited. We can’t wait to hear from players engaging in our story about Norah, our main character, and their journey to a remote island in search of her husband’s lost expedition.
Coming to date has been an amazing journey for us at Out of the Blue too. As much as we have developed Call of the sea We feel like we have explored a whole new world like Norah. We are veterans in the game development world, 11 passionate people who have worked on different games. With Out of the Blue, our brand new studio, we’ve started a new adventure that’s just as exciting as anything we’ve done in the past.
Call of the sea is the first game that we created as a team and with which we also take you back in time. It is an otherworldly adventure game set in the 1930s. You take on the role of Norah, a young woman who has crossed an ocean in a desperate search for her husband, who disappeared during an expedition. To find out what fate met her, you will solve puzzles and reveal secrets. Occasionally, reality skews and turns to the surreal. We didn’t make a horror game just to be clear. However, all of us on the team have always had a passion for the supernatural and the unexplored. So we took inspiration from the way HP Lovecraft told its stories and wrote the story to fill you with a creeping insight. We wanted you to find clues about what could be beyond your eyes.
Norah is played by Cissy Jones, who we have long admired for her ability to create characters with just her voice. She fascinated us Fire watch and it was amazing to see her bring Norah to life Call of the sea.
In the heart, Call of the sea is a love story. Love, perhaps the strongest emotion we humans ever feel, has made Norah all over the world plunge into unknown secrets. Our goal was to intelligently portray the serenity and strength of a relationship based on mutual respect and genuine worship. With her words, Cissy brings all that depth to the character and makes Norah feel alive and present in a way that exceeded our greatest hopes.
Call of the sea is of course also a game. A puzzle-based, narrative-driven first-person adventure game and the fact that it’s a love story in itself. We all on the development team grew up playing amazing adventure and puzzle games. Our goal was to awaken the nostalgic joy in these games while adding deeper emotional dimensions to create something fresh and vital. We welcome you all to our mysterious, enigmatic adventure about love, made with love. We really look forward to hearing from you all and hope you enjoy it Call of the sea.
