Chernobylite is an upcoming science fiction survival horror RPG set in the hyper-realistic, 3D scanned wasteland of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, based on a deeply personal experience for Polish developers Farm 51.
In the spring of 1986, during a routine safety test to simulate a power outage after the test was complete, newly installed operators triggered a reactor shutdown that resulted in two explosions that ripped open the reactor core and destroyed the reactor building. This led to a nuclear fire in the open-air reactor that released significant amounts of radioactive contamination across Russia and Western Europe.
The panic that resulted from the radioactive cloud spreading over Europe, the nasty Lugol liquid that had to be drunk to counter the effects of radiation poisoning, and the order to stay indoors was a reality for millions of people People, including members of the Chernobylite development team.
These events sparked a deep fascination and interest in Chernobyl at Farm51. This interest later developed into a project aimed at transforming the Chernobyl power plant and the surrounding city of Pripyat into a virtual state. A virtual documentation of the events that shook the world. The proceeds from this virtual experience were donated to the victims who still need help after the decades of disaster. It took Farm 51 many years to 3D scan one of the most dangerous places in the world and recreate the zone true to the original terrible situation.
A game that allows others to see and feel the atmosphere of this abandoned, once busy city with their own eyes. A feeling of sadness and emptiness. An increased sense of fear that Farm 51 felt itself.
Preserving Chernobyl from natural destruction has become one of the pillars of the game to commemorate a place that is deteriorating and disappearing from year to year. The abandoned buildings in Pripyat city, buildings and objects exposed to the weather that fail the test of time. There are already places in Chernobyl that have collapsed or burned down in recent years and are now only visible as a result of great efforts to keep the website in digital form.
April 26, 1986, 1:23 a.m. The day that Chernobyl changed forever.

Can you survive the harsh and unforgiving environment in your quest for the truth?
Stealth, Survival & Combat
Survival in the zone is not easy and each day brings new challenges as comrades die and supplies run out. There is danger lurking in every corner.
Go undetected as you navigate the harsh and contaminated environment and gather all the evidence to piece together the events of the past. Avoid detection to perform stealth takedowns or engage in open armed combat using a variety of weapons at your disposal. Maintaining your mental well-being and the well-being of your comrades is just as important to your chances of success as the number of enemies and obstacles you face. Life in the Zone is fragile and your choices determine not only your fate but that of others as well. Surrounded by threats from all directions, you must carefully plan your strategy to survive.
Base building & craft
You need to build a base from which to plan your daily operations and excursions. Use workstations to craft gadgets, craft traps and weapons, modify equipment, or craft valuable life-saving medicines to keep you and your crew alive.
Improve your skills to gather as much information and evidence as you can about past events. Use this knowledge to accomplish your mission.
Resource and team management
Each day requires careful planning and allocation of resources and tasks to your comrades. Do the work yourself or send your colleagues to complete the job. These companions are key to your survival and the resolution of your journey. Treat them well and make yourself comfortable. They will be very helpful, affect your quality of life and reduce your chances of success. Gather resources using your PDA and other devices to weather the hostile environment, and source new materials for your base to create a more comfortable environment for your team. Remember, however, that decisions you make early on will affect the later outcome of events.
If you are a fan of extraordinary history, combined with survival horror and RPG elements, and want to see Chernobyl with your own eyes, prepare yourself for an unforgettable experience.
