Dauntless Reforged launches December 3rd and includes a major overhaul of previous systems and the introduction of a brand new type of hunt. Here are three new things to experience in the Shattered Isles when this update hits Xbox One.
Hunting area
The hunting type Hunting Grounds offers a completely new way of dealing with the Shattered Islands. 18 new islands support up to 6 hunters at the same time, and the best part? You don’t have to go anymore! Stay and kill to your heart’s content. With 18 islands to explore, you will never find a dull moment. Face the hostile fauna, unlock rewards and compete against wild giants to your heart’s content.
Because you can spend more time on hunting islands than with previous types of hunt, we’ve also added the ability to seamlessly replenish your supplies on islands via a new source of consumables: supply boxes. With supply boxes you can freshen up your consumables, heal you and your teammates and change your workload on the fly.
Did we mention you can fly now? The screen adds a new traversal option that allows players to take to the skies to navigate these large islands. You can unlock gliders from the Hunter’s Path after you reach your third milestone. Here you can also unlock additional frames that offer more mobility and range. Expect several colorful ways to personalize your glider soon …
Slayer’s Path
Phoenix Labs has revised the core advancement systems of Fearless to give players more freedom of choice about their preferred play style and fighting preferences. With Dauntless Reforged, the focus on gear crafting has decreased and now the majority of player progress is tracked on the Hunter’s Path. Hunters will work out their legend in this new branching progression system.
The Slayers Path consists of a main path in the middle and several side paths that branch off from it. The main path will help you on your way from a new hunter to a veteran. The branching side paths open up new activities and offer a variety of unique bonuses for your slayer. When and what you unlock is entirely up to you. So take a look around and find out which paths best suit your style of play.
Course
It’s now easier than ever to craft and upgrade your gear. With Dauntless ReforgedPlayers upgrade their weapons by improving their weapon skills and upgrading their equipment.
Increase each weapon skill from level 1 to 20 by hunting and killing giants. Once a weapon skill reaches level 20, players can reforge the skill and reset it to level 1. This action grants the players an etheric heart that can be used to power any device, thereby significantly and permanently increasing its power.
Use your Aether Hearts wisely to create the perfect set of Behemoth-destructive equipment for your hunter.
