Those who wanted the iPad to eventually turn on the MacBook see that their dreams come true with the final steps taken by Apple. New magic keyboard, backlit trackpad keyboard with amazing hinge machine, make the space between the iPad Pro and the MacBook almost invaluable.
Apple is taking short steps and slow, slow at times, but its end is very clear, and it's steadily improving on it. A good example of this we have with IP Pro, which in 2018 received USB-C connectivity around standard edges, leaving the Lightning connector that continued to be stored on the remaining iOS device. In 2019, it split IPOS into iOS, so iPads already had their own operating system with features different from those of iOS. In 2020 the mouse and trackpad compatibility came after the release of iOS 13.4, and Apple took the opportunity to unveil a new keyboard: Magic Keyboard.
Rear keyboard with standard keys (circus mode) and integrated trackpad. Everybody's dream for the last few months has come true. And you did it as Apple knew how to do things, because you could do a lot of keyboard covers, though only Apple has figured out one that makes the iPad "float" on the keyboard, with a dual-sided keyboard that makes it fall in love. from the first moment you see it, and when you try it it leaves you with a smile on your face. And best of all, it's compatible with the iPad Pro 2018, details.
Keyboard like MacBook
Apple did what it had to: equip the iPad with the same keyboard as their MacBooks have. Smart's "old" keyboard has many benefits, such as its brightness and dimness, but an experience where typing doesn't fit into those benefits, rather the opposite, or you end up getting used to those pressing "bubble" type sensors. But when you go back to using a regular keyboard you can see that is the feeling you want. This new Magic Keyboard gives you the same feeling as typing on your MacBook Pro, with the scarf Apple has just acquired after a bad experience of butterfly boards.
A keyboard with the same size of keys, with the same mechanism, with the same sound as you type … and best of all, with the same light as the MacBook. The backlight system is also controlled depending on the available light that captures the iPad, and gives you enough light for each scene. If you want to control it you can do it from the iPadOS settings, here are no buttons dedicated to this function. No problem turning off the light either, but you really don't need it because the keyboard is turned off when you have a little time without it, so if you're going to watch a movie in the dark, the keyboard won't bother you.
And is that one of the drawbacks of this keyboard in the taskbar above, with the old volume control buttons, screen brightness, etc. And the escape key, you only see how much is needed when you don't have one. We can always duplicate the key from the settings and configure (for example) cache locks to behave like this. And we can learn endless keyboard shortcuts to perform many tasks and thus saves time, but keep in mind that many are not the same as macOS. My beloved Cmd + Q out of the app here is cmd + H. It won't be long until I have a macOS error instead of iPadOS.
Multi-Touch trackpad
Excuses for a new magic keyboard have always been your fault. Apple has taken advantage of the re-installation of its keyboard completely, and has changed so many things that it seems like the trackpad is the smallest, when in fact it's the most divisive thing. And that the trackpad will soon be behind, because it's not surprising. Make no mistake, It is an excellent trackpad that many high end books already would like., but I'm used to the trackpad with Force Touch for my MacBook, this trackpad looks like it's outdated to me, since the track pack bar is too high, and this is always a bit off.
Its functionality is good, to be able to click anywhere on the trackpad for instant feedback, as well as the possibility of performing finger, two and three fingers. I emphasize, the dream of anyone who has tried the ugly track dots of competing book records often has … but the fact that it is a machine tracking pump means we have to put one step down. Of course the robustness of the keyboard will be limited, but by Apple, you always have to look for a rating.
I emphasize: it makes me happy to use the iPad to navigate between applications, desktops, select cells in Excel or text in Word, out-of-app or multitasking. Gestures are very similar to the ones we usually use in macOS, though there are differences. I think iOS 14 will print this section with new sentences and variations of the existing one such as the one that requires Slide Over, which completely confirms every touch.
Sturdy and heavy design
The quality level of the keyboard is very high. Once you've edited the iPad on the keyboard, using the stats of both pieces, everything seems to be one. If you give it to someone who doesn't know that an iPad Pro or a magic keyboard, it's impossible for them to know they are actually two pieces. And yet you can easily remove your iPad and return it amazing. And what of the two hinges that allow movement to unlock and direct the iPad toward you. It seems unbelievable that something so basic can give you a sense of perfection
The iPad Pro "treads" on the keyboard, but it doesn't do it in any way, it acts as a single block and side with the keyboard, except for a small slide. And if you soften the incline a few degrees, you'll get the same feel of one block. No positions are marked, size and minimum, and between the two any other position is possible. The iPad Pro + Magic keyboard set is ideal for typing on your legs, or at least as complete as any laptop. Perfect to use the Apple Pencil, as it does not allow putting the iPad flat on the face. Yes, you can remove the keyboard and use the iPad on the table to take notes or draw with your Apple Pencil, but I would prefer it to be otherwise.
But all this comes at a price, and that is that this keyboard weighs more than the iPad Pro itself. The 12.9-inch iPad Magic weighs 710g, while the IP Pro itself weighs 641g. In total they weigh 1,310gr, which weighs less than a 13 "MacBook Air and weighs less than a 13" MacBook Pro weighing.. We're talking about really light laptops, so this is no small problem. We must not forget that this keyboard is intended to "convert" your iPad into a laptop. If you want to use it for watching movies or games, buy better for a standard case, very cheap and easy.
We also pay a hefty price tag, though not much more than the previous Smart Keyboard. But it was clear that we wanted the keyboard in mehendi, backlit and trackpad, and that it was also a solid set. It reminds me of those three circles with the words "cheap, fast, well done" an architect friend always reminds me of when he has a little opportunity. There are some things that Apple should upgrade, but there are some that aren't physically possible until proven otherwise. What remains unchanged from the Smart Keyboard is the minimal protection it offers the iPad, as the edges remain completely free. Of course, if we also wanted more protection, the thickness would be great, you just have to look at the Logitech Slim Folio Pro for an idea.
Smart connector, it makes a difference
We never talk about battery or communication, because there is no need to talk about any of that. The Magic Keyboard uses the Smart Connector on the back of your iPad Pro to work, uses your iPad's battery, and transmits needed information in a similar way. This enables Trackpad movement and writing to take place with minimal delay, and Bluetooth communication is available for any other text you want to connect. It also loosens the USB-C connector for the iPad Pro, since the Magic keyboard has USB-C that you can re-install the iPad Pro, allows the connection of a microphone, external disk or photo camera at the same time that you upload it without needing a dock or similar. This USB-C Magic Keyboard only allows for iPad Pro charging, not connection to any other app.
Editor's Vision
Apple has shown with its new Magic Keyboard that it is still unique when it comes to naming products that leave us speechless. Excellent keyboard build quality that keyboard and trackpad not only allow but also achieve outstanding note, which uses Smart Connector for forgetting about Bluetooth and other battery rather than restarting, and with an unlocking pad and iPad tendency that leaves you in love from the first minute. But you have to pay a higher price, and I'm not just talking about the € 399 price that the 12.9-inch model costs (€ 339 the 11 model) but the increase in weight and size of the tire. But if you use your iPad Pro like a laptop, this price is paid effortlessly but with joy.
