Although there are those who believe that the HTC Dream or Google G1 was the first Android device ever created, the fact is that this title has fallen into the hands of a particular device. One is less well known, but that at the time we remember along with other anonymous details of Android history.
It's about a call "Quick", a signal that the mother company of Android developed for the purpose of testing the first versions of Android, even before the first Apple iPhone came into existence.
And now, thanks to the eBay seller of the platform, several people from all over the world will own the property nine units of this unusual phone, at a price less than $ 200.
This was "Quick", the first Android mobile phone in history
A unique feature of this device was its "Blackberry" format, because it had a virtual QWERTY keyboard built under the classic control buttons of its time. Plus, we found one 320 x 240 pixel screen
Although the tool was in the development phase, in the end Google has decided to pull the project down and focus on their efforts in the process The dream of HTC is a Taiwanese company. The reason? The arrival of the first iPhone led Google to speculate that a mobile phone would soon be completely interrupted by the Apple terminal, and decided to abandon the idea of creating institutions with a format that, at least, was comparable to that of the Apple phone.
In an announcement on eBay, which is currently inactive since nine signal units have been sold, it is clear that the device is compatible with the model Google Soon or HTC EXCA300. It is one of the first prototypes used by Google to perform Android tests in its original programs – probably version 0.5 of the app.
The seller explains that the terminal is for sale as something for a collector of phone lovers, given the limited number of prototypes of this model available. It also explains that it is in vain battery, charger and headphone, there is no manual instruction manual or other user guide – in a sense, it's a test unit meant to be analyzed – and it's almost impossible to make it work, how much to connect to a data network.
We don't know if those who decided to get one of the units for this prototype would be able to make it work. If so, we may soon be able to see more details what Google was originally meant to be, before Apple crossed paths with young Andy Rubin, Chris White, Rich Miner and Nick Sears, and had to change their plans almost completely.
