Smartphones are more than just mobile, they are powerful computers in such a way that we can carry them in our pocket. For years it has been discovered that all that power may be just the computer we need, making it as flexible as possible.
Back in 2011, products like the Motorola Atrix (Motorola's laptop) or Asus Transformer made us dream of a cellphone that became a big deal. Since then we have seen every year new (and very interesting) proposals that have not been implemented successfully. But it looks like technology is finally ready to give us what we've been looking for for years.
Asus Update: less mobile, better quality and pure Android
Asus's history is unique in some ways, ever since the company first arrived on Android with different devices and it's known how to duplicate it.
So you can turn your phone into a laptop
The search for this flexible laptop has been with us for a year, and as technology progresses it seems that this dream seems to be coming soon. NexDock is working on its second generation, with a product that other YouTubers are already able to try, a product that has caught our attention.
On a computer it initially looks like a laptop, but specifically it doesn't have any internal computer features. This machine has a 13.3-inch screen, keyboard, trackpad and a 51 Wh battery that should last much longer as it doesn't have to power the computer.
In addition to these things we find the following ports:
- Three USB C ports:
- One USB C 3.1 compatible with DisplayPort.
- One USB C 3.0.
- Charging a single USB C (compatible Power delivery).
- HDMI port-in (1.4a): This is an input connector, which lets you connect a console, computer or any other application with HDMI output.
- USB 3.0 port.
- 3.5 mm head jack.
- MicroSD card reader.
In this way, this device does double duty, and if we use a USB C port we can turn the phone into a full laptop, but with the HDMI input it has the ability to act as an external monitor, a supplement that is thought to be very useful for all-purpose laptop users. .
Today, mobile compatibility is limited to computers with desktop mode, so today it's available on some computers with Samsung, Huawei and Honor (we think that with LG's new desktop mode). These are compatible models today:
- Samsung phones:
- Global S: S8, S8 +, S8 Active, S9, S9 +, S10e, S10, S10 +.
- Galaxy Note: 8, 9, 10, 10+.
- Huawei Calls:
- C Series: P20, P20 Pro, P30, P30 Pro.
- Mate series: Mate 10, 10 Pro, Mate 20, 20 Pro and 20 X, Mate 30.
- Calls of honor: Note 10 and look at 20.
Today the deal is in the pre-sale phase, priced at $ 259 with a shipping cost of $ 35 to Spain, which puts them in about $ 294 in total, about 266 euros will change.
The price is very exciting as it will continue to work with all the new mobile phones you have, but we recommend waiting.
Helpful? Although very promising, it is in the buying phase first we command intelligence, wait for them to start shipping units and learn about first-time user information. Of course, if you're curious we recommend you check out the manufacturer's website.
Of course, by human standards I'm dying to try that. When we can do this we will tell you our experience.
