This week we got the launch of Android 12 Beta, a new look at what’s to come in the next big update to Google’s mobile operating system, in which we’ll also see its biggest redesign yet. .
The new interface of Android 12 It also comes with new features and new gestures. Now we will have a new way to open notifications, activate the new with one hand
Until now, the only way to see notifications natively on Android has been to swipe down from the status bar, i.e. from the top edge of the screen.
Now Google is finally adding native support to a new gesture. Since Settings> System> Gestures> Swipe to see notification. we can activate the new gesture that allows us swipe down on the bottom edge to view notifications.
This makes it more accessible to view notifications when we use the mobile with one hand, because it will not require us to stretch our finger up the screen. By simply swiping inside the screen, we’ll see quick settings and notifications.
Android 12 is also launching the new with one hand which for a few years already integrated a few layers of customization. This new mode is activated from Settings> System> Gestures> One-handed mode.
The gesture is the same as the previous one, so the user has to decide what they want their device to do when swipe down on the bottom edge
Finally, in the gesture settings of the device, it also allows us to activate the new gesture to call the Google Assistant. In the section “Power menu” you can activate the wizard to activate it when hold down the power button. This gesture replaces the power menu.
