We don’t know what the version of macOS that will launch in 2021 will be called, or what news it will bring in the form of interface, functions and benefits. Logically, we do not know their compatibility either, but we can speculate.
The next macOS update is expected to be announced in June, coinciding with the celebration of WWDC 2021. Apple will use this conference to present macOS 12 (what will it be called?
Will your Mac or MacBook be compatible with macOS 12?
Before looking at our list, you should check what year your Mac is. It doesn’t have to be the year you bought it, so go to “About This Mac” and look at the year in parentheses. You will also be able to identify which model it is.
Now yes, here are our predictions of which models are compatible with macOS 12:
- MacBook early 2016 or later
- MacBook Air (Intel) 2015 or later
- 2020 MacBook Air (M1)
- MacBook Pro (Intel) 2015 or later
- 2020 MacBook Pro (M1)
- Mac mini from late 2014 or later
- 2015 latest iMac
- Mac Pro 2019
