The December Feature Drop arrived a few weeks ago at google mobiles created on the Pixel 4, Pixel 4a, 4a 5G and Pixel 5 an interesting feature: the smart charging.
Smart charging helps protect battery health over time for dynamically control the loading speed a Pixel device, but It will only be activated at a very specific time of the day
It’s a smart charge
This feature prevents the mobile from recharging quickly when not needed, because when we sleep we are in no rush to finish charging. We don’t care about the delay in charging the seven or eight hours we sleep. So we can extend the battery life by not having to abuse so many fast charges.
The smart charging of Google Pixel 4 or higher is enabled by default in Settings> Battery> Smart battery. There we find the new option Smart charging
The Google support page gives more details about this new feature. Now we know that smart charging only works if we charge our Pixel from 9:00 p.m.
This means that if we set an alarm for more than 10 a.m. the smart charging will not work, nor if we connect the charger to the mobile before 9 p.m. no matter how often the alarm is at 5 p.m. If we do not respect these times, the load will be normal.
