You can easily remove the headband from AirPods Max

The AirPods Max continue to leave us with a lot of surprises as the days go by, and the truth is, this type of information that iFixit usually gets from its teardowns is amazing. This latest innovation leaves us quite “on hold” about the future of AirPods Max accessories and how they might be interchangeable.

We are already clear that we can change the AirPods Max pads easily thanks to its system of magnets but … Did you know that you can change the AirPods Max headband using the SIM tray key?

Apple does not include this accessory in the box, but it is fully functional.

If we remove the ear cushions, we see a small hole fairly centered just in the area where the headband “pin” is inserted in these AirPods Max. If we insert the key to open the SIM tray in the hole and press, the system will be unlocked and we will be able to extract this part of the strip.
