The dream of owning a home
The first new PvE content is planned for summer 2020. Then Atoll Row opens, an area where your own house is. According to the developers, you don't even have to buy this with in-game currency. You can not only set up your own house, but also visit your friends'.
Then the numerous furniture shops will open, where you can buy furnishings. Initially, they will be purely decorative, but at a later date there will also be items with a certain use. The developer named an incubator, a jukebox and fruit trees as examples.
New islands with mythical Temtem
The story itself will also continue from summer. Then you can visit the fourth island called Kisiwa, continue the fight against the clan Belsoto, defeat other dojo leaders and find the long-awaited climbing equipment.
Island number five will then follow in autumn along with the first mythical temtem. The players are currently assuming that it is the monster in the volcano in Omninesia. Because you will probably be able to achieve this with the new climbing equipment.
Scaling makes breeding less important
There are innovations in the field of PvP from spring and allow you to largely ignore breeding. You had to deal with that if you wanted a temtem with perfect values. However, since this is very expensive and time-consuming, it caused a lot of frustration for the community. The developer wants to solve this as follows:
- Autoscaling for matchmaking: If you use matchmaking to find a counterparty, all your monsters get the best possible values thanks to a new scaling mechanism. For the PvP mode, only the team formation, the choice of attacks and the decisions in the fight itself are important.
- Training remains important: With training you can distribute so-called TV and thus further influence the amount of values. Nothing will change after the change.
- Breeding remains relevant: The breeding system does not disappear. Because the scaling function is only used in fights via matchmaking. In the PvE content and in the tournaments planned for later, your monsters use their normal values specified in the game.
Since the early access release on January 22, 2020, Temtem has sold more than 500,000 copies. If you want to dig deeper into the game or need help with initial decisions such as choosing the starter, you should take a look at our guides to the game.
