Game news E3 2021 – Bayonetta 3, Hellblade 2, Metroid Prime 4 … the big ones missing from the show
,
E3 is an event made up of announcements or confirmation of rumors … but it is also a moment of disappointed hopes and expectations. But also speculation before the conference and the desire to see a certain title announced or revealed in more detail are part of the charm of E3. That is why we list some of the big absenteeism from E3, those games or announcements that have disappeared. Of course, this list is not exhaustive for anyone who sees noon on their doorstep.
Everwild
Easily revealed through two very pretty trailers in 2019 and 2020, Rare’s next title, Everwild, has been very mysterious so far. So it was only natural to wait impatiently for this E3, and especially the Microsoft conference, to learn more about the game’s dreamy universe. Unfortunately, Everwild was noticeable because of his absence. The development of the game seems complicated to say the least, as the departure of the project’s creative director last year showed. Other claims suggest a complete restart of the game, and Everwild’s absence on this E3 seems to support that claim.
Perfect dark
Announced as part of the Game Awards in December 2020, Perfect Dark, which was considered the spiritual sequel to Goldneye 64 at the time, was unfortunately concealed during this E3 2020. Of course, there was nothing to confirm his presence at this year’s conferences, the expectations were still there. However, we will no longer know about the direction of this project developed by The Initiative.. Development should only be in the first few steps, so it will likely take patience to know and see more of this.
Hellblade 2
This is a game that crystallizes a lot of expectations. Since the immense success of the first Hellblade and the official sequel to its sequel, called Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II and still developed by Ninja Theory, fans of this atypical universe have been carefully watching out for news about it. Unfortunately, there are no traces of Hellblade II at the end of the Microsoft conference this E3, except for a mention at the end of the Microsoft conference indicating that the game is obviously still in the tubes of Ninja Theory. However, on June 17, another event, hosted by Microsoft, called the Xbox Games Showcase Extended, took place.which finally allowed us to discover the gameplay and get additional information. All’s well that ends well…
fable
Simply mentioned by Phil Spencer during the Microsoft conference this E3 2021, the eagerly awaited fable was only evident through this mention. The lack of the game was certainly not a complete surprise and for good reason the studio in charge did the resurrection of the cult RPG is nothing more than playground, which you probably know from Forza Horizon 5, which got very detailed this year. Unless the same teams are developing the two games, we may just have to wait for Horizon 5 to come out for a bigger workforce to take part in developing Fable and thus further exposing it to the public.
The legacy of Hogwarts
Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy, announced at an event hosted by Sony in September, won’t be exclusive to PlayStation and will be released on all computers in 2022 if the schedule is met. It will be an open world role-playing game that puts you in the shoes of a late 19th century Hogwarts student.. Developed by Avalanche Studios and published by Warner, Hogwarts Legacy allows you to learn and cast various spells or make potions that are more appropriate activities for an RPG. However, even today it will still be necessary to be satisfied with a fairly attractive trailer, albeit only a few months old, and to wait more to have more information and pictures on this ambitious project of adapting the Harry Potter universe .
Indiana Jones
Here is an announcement that went out as quickly as it arrived. We actually learned a few months ago that Machine Games, who we know for their very good job of appropriating the Wolfenstein franchise, is currently working on an Indiana Jones game. More associated with the golden age of point’n click, the adventurer with the hat has not seen many adaptations of his adventures in our media. However, if Machine Games is owned by Bethesda, it is very likely that Indiana Jones is not exclusive to Xbox, so Microsoft at its conference preferred to rule out what was not exclusive to its machine. Or simply, maybe the project is not advanced enough to be exposed. The riddle therefore remains unsolved.
La Nintendo Switch Pro
Everyone was talking about it and many took their presence at this E3 2021 for granted and yet the famous Nintendo Switch Pro did not show a piece of Joy-Con during Nintendo Direct. However, the rumors were widespread and the indications of the machine’s presence were numerous. Some trailers revealed during this E3 suggested that the basic Nintendo Switch wouldn’t have the shoulders to pick up certain titles, Mario + The Raving Rabbids Sparks of Hope and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 play. Unfortunately, you will have to be patient to finally have the variant of the popular hybrid console from Nintendo officially.
Metroid Prime 4
In a sense, Metroid was certainly invited to this E3 2021 as part of Nintendo Direct. A new episode of the franchise has appeared with Metroid Dread, Episode in 2.5D, which will land on our computers from October 8th and should satisfy fans of Metroid 2D. But sadly, Samus fans can’t find out more about the progress of the sequel to the Retro Studios signed FPS trilogy this year, as Metroid Prime 4 again missed the call while everyone and everyone was waiting for it. Announced by a simple picture in 2017, the game is decidedly long overdue.
Bayonetta 3
Another disappointment related to this Nintendo Direct of 40 minutes: the again very noticeable lack of Bayonetta 3. And to say that the wait is long is an understatement, as it is still necessary until 2017, until the announcement of the third Part of blow them all. Aside from some statements in the press, Bayonetta 3 didn’t show an inch and it wasn’t this E3 that changed the situation, to the horror of the fans of the franchise, who we know are very numerous.
Beyond good and evil 2
Announced for so long and surrounded by such a chaotic course that you could get lost in it, Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still a reality. The Ubisoft title was also invited to E3 to confirm that the project is on the right track and is progressing well. However, the apparent ambition of the cult game’s sequel is taking time to take shape, which could explain the reasons why we still don’t have any news or pictures of this game to make a splash at its release.
