What was there in 2019?
Geoff Keighley founded the event in 2019 as a way to allow anyone interested to attend the game fair. Titles that can otherwise only be played on site are made available online for everyone in such a short time.
In 2019 you could test 13 games. Among them were the remake of System Shock, Carrion, The Drifter and Eastward. This year, the offer has more than doubled.

@kawaraban_japanThe Game Festival is much more than just a simple event. If it really takes place several times a year, I see the return of demo versions! They have made themselves damn rare in recent years. Trying a game legally before buying is very difficult these days.
But thanks to the festival, I finally no longer have to sit in front of the screen and ask myself: "Will I like this?" I can simply click the download button and find out! Sure: the focus here is on indie titles, but maybe one or the other bigger publisher will be able to convince in the future.
We especially benefit from this event as customers. Only the time limit is a bit annoying. Especially when I think back how many hours I spent with the completely modifiable demo version of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. But maybe something like that will come back!
