Heading to a medieval fantasy universe for a future game?

After The Last of Us Part II, Naughty Dog must be watched very closely. Every statement, every gesture, every tweet, every job offer can be interpreted in a thousand ways. And the works of art? Let us talk about it.

Late last year, Hyoung Nam, senior concept artist for Naughty Dog, posted on his site Artstation

on which he published many (sublime) images of The Last of Us Part II, illustrations that are of great interest today. These are three conceptual arts that are grouped under the name “Les Femmes du Nord”.

No saleswomen in a french fries hut, FC Lens supporters or Maroilles cake eaters. No, we discover three beautifully drawn women (see our gallery below) in a universe that is quite far from ours: The first is a war that sits on the dragon’s corpse, which it apparently just killed. The second, who seems to like bone, isn’t far from making us think of a ncromancer. In relation to the last one whose green eyes seem to meet us, we could speculate about a dancer or a thief.

Fascinating, isn’t it? Wait because the artist’s comment is also worth gold:

It’s naughty. Because it suggests that these images are related to an unannounced project. Especially at this time when we are told that the Californian studio has already been working on something new and not necessarily a third The Last of Us. What if the “cool game” Neil Druckmann spoke of a few days ago was a new license for a heroic fantasy world?

After the success of game of Thronesbefore returning from Lord of the rings On Amazon and everything related to the more popular Dungeons & Dragons RPG, the idea seems appealing. But not an outlier.
