No question, Half-Life: Alyx is a fantastic game with a lot of solid strengths (which you can read about in our epic GameStar test). But a special feature of VR technology should not be overlooked: You can do a lot of nonsense in this game! And the players do that too. A nice example of Reddit for a Sunday smile.
A freshly released video puts a rather bizarre friendship in the spotlight. YouTuber / YouTuberin Skyler lets main character Alyx make a very special friendship to a headcrab. While "Happy Together" sounds in the background, we experience 3 1/2 minutes of deep love between man and headcrab – long before the wonderful Lamarr from Half-Life 2. Here is the whole clip:
Thanks to VR technology, Alyx can move objects (and subjects) so freely in the game that such bizarre constellations are possible. In the video she plays hide and seek with the headcrab, sips a beer together and dances wildly in a circle. Such gags are reminiscent of Garry's Mod.
The NoClip colleagues, who are known for their extensive video game documentaries, comment on the still very unknown video and are enthusiastic. But what do you think? Much silly? Not funny at all? Or is it your humor?
More about VR: If you suffer from motion sickness, by the way, we have a wonderful health article on such problems in the plus area. There is also a VR podcast in which, among other things, the founder of VR-Legion talks about the future of VR technology.
