Fans rejoiced a few years ago when Nintendo finally officially announced Metroid Prime 4. Since then, the game has been a long time coming and, according to a new rumor, it should stay that way for a long time.
At the press conference on the occasion of E3 2017, Nintendo officially announced Metroid Prime 4 for the Switch, making the hearts of fans of the long-standing and successful cult series beat faster again. However, not everything h as gone as planned for the ambitious since then and the work has more or less restarted. This also has an impact on the release, because it is still undated.
Worse still, we still haven’t really seen anything tangible on Metroid Prime 4 beyond the original teaser. When the first screenshots or even gameplay are shown, is also in the stars, as is the publication period. According to a new rumor, this is unfortunately still a long time coming.
The Internet giant Amazon recently contacted players by email who had already pre-ordered Metroid Prime 4 there. It reports on a new expected release of the game. Amazon names January 2, 2023 as the new date!
Woohoo! Looks like Amazon just sent me an update for my Metroid Prime 4 pre-order I made on June 14, 2017.

Since this is a Monday, it can almost be ruled out that this will also be the final publication date in the end. Video games usually always appear on a Tuesday or Friday. Even if an official statement from the developer or Nintendo is still pending, it can already be guessed in which direction the whole thing is developing. A release in 2021 will probably be almost impossible and if the supposed information from Amazon is confirmed, then it will probably not be before the end of 2022 or even 2023.
Nintendo recently emphasized that the Switch will be seen in the middle of the product cycle. The Japanese could therefore continue to use the console in 2023 and Metroid Prime 4 could then still appear for the current Nintendo console. We will of course keep you up to date on further developments.
