After the huge success with the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3, Capcom would already be working on Resident Evil 4 Remake, according to the latest rumors. Although not officially confirmed, this release seems to be taken for granted, even a well-known insider has revealed more details of its development.
Resident Evil 4 Remake would have been in development since 2018, as we already knew, so if it hits the market in 2022, as expected, it would have a longer development than the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3. Similarly, the team of M-Two who would be taking care of the project, too would have more workers, and would have collaborated in Resident Evil 3 Remake
"You can bet they were also closely following the reception of Resident Evil 3 Remake to see what worked, what didn't, etc," said insider Dusk Golem (via Comic book
As we knew, Capcom wanted Shinji Mikami, creator of the series, to take over directing this remake, but given his current work with Ghostwire Tokyo alongside Bethesda, this could not be the case. Even so, the Japanese creative would have approved the project and would participate in some more limited way. They would also have the participation of the Capcom studio responsible for Devil May Cry 5.
