A new report indicates that the Switch is currently being updated.
According to Taiwanese publication DigiTimes (reported via Polygon), Nintendo is reportedly developing an updated model of its Nintendo Switch, which is scheduled to be released sometime this year.
News of the updated Switch model comes from DigiTimes sources in the upstream supply chain. The new Nintendo Switch will apparently begin production at the end of the first quarter of 2020 (which may mean sometime in March) and then be officially released in mid-2020.
There have been rumors that Nintendo has been planning the Switch Pro, which may have a larger screen and higher resolution games. Similarly, last year's Wall Street Journal writer Gao Yuelong reported that two new Switch models are being developed:
I reported in August 2019: "Nintendo has the idea to further update the Switch lineup after these two models extend the life cycle of the Switch"
DigiTimes released on January 6: "It is reported that Nintendo plans to release a new model of the Switch in mid-2020." Https://t.co/giypufcW4A

Nevertheless, the details of the new model are scarce. We have contacted Nintendo for comment.
