In a live stream, Square Enix announced NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139. This is not a new title from the series, but an upgrade version of the original game, which is due to be released this year for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
On board are new voice recordings, a newly recorded soundtrack, new characters and some bonus tracks by composer Keiichi Okabe. The game may also get new ends, but that is not yet confirmed. The development runs through the Studio Toylogic, but the senior game designer Takahisa Taura (Platinum) is also on board.
Nier appeared in 2010 for PS3 and Xbox 360 and was rather well received by the press, but was still able to inspire a whole range of fans. In 2017, Nier: Automata, a sequel for PC and PS4, was released.
Apart from that, they are also working on a mobile game from the Nier series. The same is called Nier Reincarnation and should appear for iOS and Android. So far, everything looks like a mobile role-playing game with microtransactions. Finally, there are reports that Nier Automata will become part of the Game Pass on Xbox One in the foreseeable future, more specifically from April 2.
