After Ubisoft tested Y5S1 from Rainbow Six: Siege extensively on the PTR in the past few weeks, you can finally play Operation Void Edge. The biggest innovations include the two operators Iana and Oryx and a rework of the Map Oregon.
That is in Void Edge
Ubisoft has released the patch notes for the update on the official website. At this point we summarize the most important aspects for you.
more on the subject
We alluded to the new operators from Rainbow Six: Siege: All skills & information about Oryx and Iana
- Patch size: 66GB (Steam), 69GB (Uplay)
- New operators: Attacker Iana (can create a hologram) and defender Oryx (can walk through walls and climb hatches)
- Map rework: Oregon is being remodeled. So there are new ways and entrances to which you have to adjust.
- Drone spawn: The attackers' drones no longer spawn randomly, but at the selected spawn point.
- Barricade Rubble Consistency: So far, debris could get stuck in the incompletely destroyed barricades. Since these pieces of debris are calculated on the client side, they are not in the same place for all players, which means an unfair advantage for some players. The problem with the new update is now to be addressed. As of now, the debris from incompletely destroyed barricades is much smaller, while the debris behavior from completely destroyed barricades has been improved so that debris no longer obstructs the view.
- Lesion: The defender will no longer be able to see his own mines through walls. In addition, it no longer causes damage by simply triggering. The tick damage was increased from four to six points.
- Twitch: The Twitch drone will only do one point of damage in the future. For this, their shots regenerate, which means that the drone remains useful later in the game.
So it goes on with Rainbow Six

This is NOT the end of Rainbow Six: Siege!
Rainbow Six: Siege plans a number of other important changes for the fifth year. Phil explains the five most important ones like a revised ping system in his article. Ubisoft also published not only a roadmap for this year, but also for 2021.
Major operator rework: Since map reworks are already commonplace, the first major rework by an operator is coming up soon. So Tachanka should be revised from scratch and get a completely new ability.
