Over the weekend, Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord received its next weekly update. While regular version has now arrived at patch 1.2.1, the beta branch played by many players has now reached version 1.3 – and with its changes it causes fan criticism.

So it must go on with Mount & Blade 2
Patch 1.3 aggravates performance problems
The fact that the updates for Bannerlord can sometimes cause bigger errors is nothing new: Already the last patch 1.2 broke the in-game economy and therefore the whole game for a short time.
The problems of the new update are, however, old friends: We already reported in our early access test Performance problems in larger battles. That is exactly what has gotten worse.
When testing the new patch, we noticed that even small battles with around 250 participants or more are already too strong Frame rate drops – so far these have only occurred in sieges with at least twice as many units.
Other players also report performance issues after the upgrade, and Reddit has many users experiencing the same difficulties. TheAntiRealist writes:
"Yes, 1.3 introduced the PC freezing problems to me as well. I used to be able to handle large battles fairly well, but now I am losing frames quite a lot even in medium-sized battles (200 vs 200)."

Fan criticism for increased grind
But it's not just technical difficulties that are annoying fans at the moment: Banner lord is already pretty grind-heavyAnyone who wants to influence the important currency after the patch will now need significantly longer: The donation of troops to allied garrisons now brings 60 percent less influence
As Cnoggi writes:
"Uuuund again they have tricked a tricky aspect of the game. 60% less influence for donating troops? It took ages to have enough influence to do anything. Why do they want this game to be one Grind party? Repairs the stuff that needs to be fixed. "
Since the influence income was otherwise not changed, you should at the latest when you have conquered your first fortress, no longer have a problem with it – after all, this generates passive income in gold and influence.
