Remedy Entertainment currently seems to be doing well. After the release of the much-praised Control, a deal for two more games is already in the bag.
It shouldn't be too incomprehensible for a portfolio like Max Payne, Alan Wakem Quantum Break or, most recently, Control for Remedy that it is not too much of a problem to land more game deals. As has now become known, the studio has now concluded a deal with a previously unknown publisher for the development of two new games that are to be published by the same publisher.
A title is apparently an AAA game that is currently in pre-production. The second game is said to be a smaller title, but located in the same game universe. Both titles are expected to be released for PC and next-gen consoles in the next few years. Both games are also said to be based on Remedy's own Northlight engine. Further details on the deal are expected to follow shortly. We will of course keep this in mind for you.
Update 3:40 p.m .:
In the meantime, it has become a little more specific. Epic Games has launched a new multiplatform publishing initiative and has named Studios Remedy, Playdead (Limbo, Inside) and Fumito Uedas Gen Design (The Last Guardian) as its first partners. The deal apparently states that the studios retain 100 percent of their intellectual property and creative control. Epic Games will also cover 100 percent of the development costs. In return, a 50/50 model is aimed at dividing the profit. Pic has also announced the program via trailer:
