After the success of The Witcher's Netflix series, the streaming service has recently surprisingly confirmed the production of an anime film. The focus of the strip will not be about Witcher Geralt.

It's a rosy time for Witcher fans, even though the announcement of a The Witcher 4 is still a long time coming. After the successful first season of the series on Netflix, the streaming service recently also confirmed a film project around the brand. "The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf" is an animated film, but its focus is not on the game protagonist Hexer Geralt von Riva.
As of last week, Anime has now released an additional set of information from Netflix, confirming that the strip will focus on Vesemir. The franchise is known to Geralt as the mentor.
The story will therefore be located clearly before the events around Geralt, because Vesemir should also be addressed in his younger years. "Long before he teaches Geralt, Vesemir begins his own journey as a sorcerer after the mysterious Deglan claims him," says a first short description.
Further details are still pending, for example regarding the release date. Series showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich will once again be behind the project, Beau DeMayo will act as the writer. The successful duo of the live action series pulls the strings here too. The animations are done by Studio Mir ("The Legend of Korra").
