The anime world is long and wide as the sea itself, although that has not helped much to win more than one Oscar for the best animated film whose honor he has and maintains Chihiro's trip since 2002 as the only winner in this category (although others have won nomination for the statue). Today, anime is a growing industry and generates billionaire income outside of Japan and also within its borders, demonstrating that the quality of its animations and stories are pleasing to an international audience.
Obviously, this meteoric rise of anime has not been sew and sing and it has taken time for non-Japanese societies to get used to the idiosyncrasies and particularities of the genre, beyond series like Dragon Ball or Sailor Moon. In fact, Google has developed an extensive list since 1966 (which includes on Twitter @jlist and in which some years are missing) with the best anime ever in each year, be it in serial format, be it in movie format, and you can check it right below. If you think that some anime is missing or some of them do not seem good enough to be considered "the best", we encourage you to give us your opinion.
