For many years, the adventure of Nathan Drake from Uncharted has been taken up in a spectacular movie, but there have always been problems. Numerous directors were devoured, but finally everything finally seemed to be turning out well. Now that the work should finally start, the corona virus strikes here mercilessly.
Sony also had to stop the production of the movie because of the current pandemic. The team is currently in Berlin, Germany and wanted to start filming in April – including the well-known actors Tom Holland (as Nathan Drake), Mark Wahlberg (as Sully) and Antonio Banderas. After several changes, Ruben Fleischer ("Venom") was the director.
But with the growing number of coronavirus cases in Germany and the associated restrictions in public life, the shooting is now on hold. According to those responsible for Sony, this is also necessary in order not to endanger the health of the cast and crew.
Production has now been postponed indefinitely, depending on how the global situation around the virus develops. Whether the target release date on March 5, 2021 can be met is therefore in the stars.
