Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord started early access on Steam on March 30, 2020. Since then, six days have passed – and since then six updates for the medieval role-playing game have also been released.
The developers deliver a new patch every day with several fixes, innovations and improvements, the last one was released on Saturday, April 4th, version 1.0.5. TaleWorlds Entertainment shows astonishingly great will to improve their game as quickly as possible.
For comparison: Of course, other games often release their first updates as soon as they are released. But for titles like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare or Warcraft 3: Reforged, it usually takes several days, if not weeks, for the next batch of bug fixes to be released. Mount & Blade 2, on the other hand, knocks like on the assembly line one update after the next

What has improved in Mount & Blade 2?
Of course, it is not only the quantity that counts, but also the quality of the patches. Therefore, let's take a closer look at which improvements and fixes have made it into the game with version 1.0.5.
The complete overview with all patch notes you can read about Mount & Blade 2 on Steam. We have put together a selection of the most important content for you:
- Bugfixes and crashfixes: So far, minor bugs have been on the developers' list, as many small things in the early access version have caused game crashes or other problems. For example, traveling alone on the campaign card could end the game unintentionally, this and many other bugs have been fixed.
- Adjustments and balancing of items and armor: By definition, an early access game is not yet finished, so Mount & Blade 2 uses the current phase to fine-tune and balance numerous details of items and equipment. Patch 1.0.4, for example, has brought over 200 revised items back into the game.
- AI improvements: The behavior of opponents and allies has also become smarter. With version 1.0.5, for example, the developers have further developed the snowball effect. This ensures that clans no longer quickly migrate to kingdoms that previously attacked one of their settlements.
- Further innovations are planned: In addition, the developers continuously respond to the wishes of the fans. For example, we recently reported that auto-blocking will soon return from the first Mount & Blade after players have specifically requested it.
Updates don't make everything better: Whoever does a lot does a lot wrong. And so the patches have already caused new problems in the game that did not exist before. For example, after the April 1 update, many players complained about broken savegames – and in fact the patch destroyed some saves. As a result, those affected had to completely restart their adventures.
However, the developers want to avoid such serious errors in the future as much as possible. And if there are other problems in the game, it won't be long before the next patch of Mount & Blade 2 is released.
What do you think of the daily updates? Do they really make the Mount & Blade 2 better or should the developers rather take the time to not inadvertently incorporate new bugs into the game in addition to bug fixes? Write us your opinion in the comments!
