AMD Radeon RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT will be released in a week. The latter should compete with Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080 and even surpass it in some cases with conventional rasterization. In December, the Radeon RX 6900 XT will follow, which is supposed to go one step further than the RTX 3090.
Of course, all of this has yet to be confirmed by independent tests, while a rumor from Taiwan (via HKEPC, machine translated) another GPU. Accordingly, Nvidia is planning an RTX 3080 Ti for January, which will challenge the RX 6900 XT at a comparable price point.
Benchmark data from AMD see the Radeon RX 6800 XT even closer to the RTX 3090 than to the RTX 3080:
The alleged specs of the RTX 3080 Ti
The supposed specifications are strongly reminiscent of those of the RTX 3090. According to the current rumor, this is what the RTX 3080 Ti should look like in the end compared to the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090:
VRAM: 24,0 GByte GDDR6X (384 Bit)
|RTX 3080 Ti *||
VRAM: 20,0 GByte GDDR6X (320 Bit)
VRAM: 10,0 GByte GDDR6X (320 Bit)
* Information not confirmed.
The HKEPC does not yet provide any information on the clock rates. However, the price for the RTX 3080 Ti is said to be $ 999. For comparison: Nvidia is calling $ 1,499 for the RTX 3090, while AMD is also charging $ 999 for the RX 6900 XT.
How credible is the information about the RTX 3080 Ti?
According to HKEPC, the information comes from a Taiwanese board manufacturer, who is not named. HKEPC itself is regarded as a serious hardware magazine.
Rumors about other graphics cards from Nvidia in addition to the already released models RTX 3090, RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 have recently been repeated.
Almost two weeks ago there was talk of an RTX 3080 Ti with 20.0 GB of video memory. However, this should accommodate 9,984 CUDA processing units instead of 10,496, as the current rumor suggests.
Before that, a 20.0 GByte variant of the regular RTX 3080 was considered secured before the plans for it were allegedly discarded.

RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT arrive on November 18th: The first independent benchmarks for the new Radeons should provide some clarity. Should Big Navi actually keep what AMD promises, Nvidia should be interested in an effective countermeasure.
