Over the years and extensions, Blizzard has refined World of Warcraft from a graphical and technical point of view, notably by adding new options available to players. The Shadowlands extension is no exception to the rule and should mark the arrival of ray tracing in the MMO.

World of Warcraft Shadowlands: a ray tracing option integrates the alpha of the expansion

In early April, Blizzard launched the alpha of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, allowing a limited number of testers to try this eighth expansion and gradually discover its content. This week, an option to manage shadows by ray tracing has appeared

in game settings, as reported WowHead. Three levels of detail are offered ("Fair", "Good", "High"), thus promising "softer and more precise" shadows. To see this functionality in action, however, you will have to wait since it cannot be activated yet.

The Shadowlands extension is a reminder planned for this year. It will lead the adventurers of Azeroth to a new world to explore made up of five regions: Shadowlands, the resting place of all mortal souls.
