The head of 17-Bit, Jake Kazdal, recently participated in an interview with the media Nintendo Life in which he talked about virtual reality and expressed his eagerness for Nintendo to enter this market to get even more out of his innovative ideas.
17-Bit is the company responsible for Skulls of the Shogun Y Galak-z, both titles available on Nintendo Switch, and the manager has made it very clear that he is a firm fan of the brand.
You can find his words below:
My playing time is literally divided in half: I love the things of Nintendo and all the great independent titles that I play all the time, and when I have time to move on to something really juicy, I take out my Oculus Quest and Rift, and my PSVR . I would love more than anything that Nintendo entered this space correctly and taught how it is done; His experiments so far are fantastic, and I really miss the extra dimension available in 3D. In fact, I'm playing Super Mario 3D Land again right now in 3DS. It is simply much more satisfying than playing on a 2D flat screen.
I think there are many misconceptions about virtual real ity, people somehow think you need a dedicated room in your home, and I also thought about it at the beginning, but it turns out that I enjoy most of my virtual reality sitting on a stool or on my sofa, totally involved in the virtual world but safely established in the real world without throwing things off the shelves or hitting me. With perfect camera control (it turns out that humans are very good at using their necks and eyes as cameras), you can focus 100% on playing and being in the game world instead of looking at it through a small window in 2D, is simply a different world. The experiences are exponentially more than you can experience on a flat screen TV.
