The Razer Huntsman Tournament Edition keyboard is a machine-made keyboard, TKL (tenkeysless), with optical switches designed to give us maximum speed when it comes to demonstrating our skills in all types of gaming.
This keyboard enhances the Razer light switch. This is demonstrated by offering quick and sensitive buttons with a power of 40 G. These keys are made with a double PBT injection, with matte finish, and a useful life of 100 million keystrokes.
Thanks to its TKL design, this keyboard is well-positioned, which offers the highest mobility and highest comfort, the ability to carry it constantly with us wherever we go. This keyboard has a cable, but its cable (USB-C type on the keyboard) can be split for easy access and storage. And thanks to its high-quality aluminum plate, this keyboard will be more powerful than other similar keyboards.
Voting rate for this keyboard is 1000 Hz, it has a complete anti-breathing system and game mode so you don't lose one second by pressing the wrong key. In addition, because of its integrated memory, it is possible to keep up to 5 different profiles and toggle between them without using any kind of software.
To get the most out of this keyboard we can use the Razer Synfall software. With this software we will be able to map the keys, customize the technical features of the keyboard and adjust the Chroma lamp as we please.
Keyboard dimensions are 362 mm long, 140 mm high and 37 mm thick, and their weight is 752 grams.
Outdoor review of the Razer Huntsman Tournament Edition keyboard
This keyboard comes with a cardboard box in standard Razer colors, i.e. green and black. At the top we can see an image of the illuminated keyboard, along with its advanced features. On one side we can see some of its details, and below are the most common keyboard views.
Inside this box we will find another box of cardboard, inside where the keyboard is already stored. The first thing we will find is a standard letter from the director, along with some stickers and a instruction book.
The keyboard, as we can see, has a slightly smaller size, of TKL type. Of course, we must remember that this model has only US distribution, that is, it does not have Ñ. Though apparently not a keyboard to write, but for gaming, this thing will set many users back.
Although the keyboard does not have dedicated multimedia keys, we can find these mappings in its F key. In addition, here we will also find the keyboard control keys and activate or activate the game mode.
The top of the keyboard is matte aluminum, which provides an excellent finish while providing excellent resistance.
The bottom of the keyboard is posted with the text "players made by gamers". Here we can find a keyboard attachment, in addition to the pins that will allow us to enlarge it to have it in good condition.
We'll also get a USB-C port to connect the keyboard cable. This cord is twisted and, although not of the Speedflex type, it is less fatty and less irritating. Something to enjoy.
When we remove the buttons we can see the Razer linear optical buttons.
PBT Keycap Upgrade Set
If we don't like the buttons that are automatically installed on this keyboard, we can also buy a PBT key to give it a different touch.
These locks are usually white in color and are made in a different way than usual. In addition to the touch, we will be able to see the difference especially in light, because the white ones give so much light.
We can easily remove buttons with the tool included in this kit. Whether to customize a keyboard, or to replace another damaged lock, is an excellent legal theme. Of course, this light kit is completely optional and does not improve (or worsen) its performance.
Razer Huntsman keyboard performance test
We can use this keyboard without relying on any additional software, due to its internal memory that allows us to save various profiles and configurations. However, if we want to get the most out of the keyboard, we need to install Razer Synfall software. This software will try to automatically install the first time we connect the keyboard to a computer (if we don't already have it installed).
Once installed, we will use it and will be able to see a list with all of the Razer launches we have installed.
We will select our new keyboard and have access to the configuration. We'll be able to see the keyboard overview, as well as other options we can configure, such as Game Mode.
From here we can open a list of keyboard keys, from where we can change their functionality. We can also access internal memory profiles to select the profile we want to render or modify.
If we click on one of the keyboard keys, we will be able to be mapped and give you the functionality we want. Synapse offers us many opportunities in this regard.
From the "Lighting" tab we will be able to stop all the Chroma effects that Razer gives us. At this stage we will be able to turn on or off the keyboard light, and adjust its brightness. We will also be able to configure automatic power-off switches to save energy, and optimize lighting effects. We can use some of the preset results, or create our own.
Finally, from the "Profiles" section we will be able to configure a different keyboard profile configuration. We can see all the profiles we've saved and the games we've connected to this software.
Razer Huntsman keyboard end
The fact that we are dealing with a very good keyboard, we cannot deny it. The modified Razer quality icon is that, playable, will give us more than just the best performance. However, we must also talk about some issues.
Optical switches give us several advantages over other switches. For example, this change is much faster than other alternatives. And they can be compressed with very little power to them, which, in turn, increases the robustness of the keyboard. Keyboard material (PBT DoubleShot) and is one of the solid points of this keyboard.
The configuration and customization is one of Razer's strong points, and is clearly reflected in this keyboard. Thanks to the Synfall software, we will have complete control over this keyboard, be able to mark the keys as we want, and adjust the brightness. If we spend time preparing the keyboard and editing the internal profiles, we can have a keyboard that works on everything, and on all operating systems, without relying on any software.
However, as we mentioned, it also has its drawbacks. The first of the disadvantages we must pay attention to is that we are dealing with a shift of illegally operated line operators that only work with 1 mm of pull. This may cause us to occasionally generate unintended keywords. The sound also seemed to be quite high at the time of writing, even though we played with helmets we couldn't see it. It's also true that it's not a very loud keyboard, because it makes less noise than other similar Cherry options. Peace is not just one of its many beautiful qualities.
Of course we will never forget that we are facing the keyboard for the US overseas distribution, something to keep in mind as some buttons will be replaced and others, such as Ñ, will not. However, we can buy button stickers (or replace them, because Razer allows us to do it as easily as we've taught it) so we can convert it to a keyboard for Spanish distribution.
If we leave aside these little distractions, no doubt, we are in front of the best keyboard you can play. Although the quality is also paid for, as this keyboard is priced at 150 euros. At this price some dedicated multimedia buttons will be fine, or useful and customizable buttons to set up a video game macro.
For all these reasons, we decided to give it a keyboard Razer Huntsman Tournament Edition our prize gold.
