The biggest update to Windows 10 so far will arrive in 2021

The Boss October 30, 2020 No Comments

Since its release in 2015, Windows 10 has maintained a good look. Microsoft releases two major updates twice a year, but most of the changes are invisible.

Therefore, it is likely that every six months you will need to search the Internet for what has been the news. That means that these features are unlikely to completely change the way you use your computer.

However, all of this could change in the next 12 months. As reported from Windows Central

Microsoft is planning a major redesign of the Windows 10 user interface by 2021. It may look like Windows 10X, a simplified version of the app that should be released next year.

Some of the major changes expected are related to certain features of the user interface that require long-term updates. File Explorer has not changed in the last five years, while tablet mode does not provide accurate information on 2-in-1 devices.

The October 2020 update has made some changes to the original menu, but there have long been rumors of a major overhaul. According to Windows Latest, improvements are expected in the task bar, task center and other menus.

Update Windows 10X

This update, labeled “Sun Valley,” should arrive by the end of next year, perhaps as part of a major revision in October 2021. However, it could be the end of a major revision that year, as ZDNet believes that “the arrival of Windows 10X will change everything for Windows.”

Now before you get excited, there are two buts you should know. First, the internal documents that identify Microsoft

programs do not specify what the changes will be. They are likely to continue in line with the 2017 changes, but there is more to come.

On the other hand, and perhaps more importantly, it should be noted that Microsoft wants to be able to bring these new features to Windows 10 by 2021. It is unlikely that all the features raised in the early stages of development will eventually reach the final version.

In any case, it is a step forward. Panos Panay, head of Microsoft Product Office and project leader, confirmed that people want to go from Windows search to search. Making Windows 10 sleeker and modern can do just that.
