Active heatsinks
This category includes most of the processor heatsinks and graphics card. In them, the built-in fan is responsible for producing air gas that affects the cooling wings. In this way, heat is released from its surface.
At this stage we can find exceptions sub-sectors:
- Extrusion heatsinksA: These models are based on an aluminum or copper block where cooling wings are produced. They are usually basic heatsinks, with limited thermal performance. Most of the Intel and AMD series heatsinks were created behind this scheme. In fact, this type of heatsink is very important, it has no heat pipes.
- Shell type heatsinks: This species is more advanced than the one we just discussed. Models usually have a low profile. This makes them ready for use in HTPC type boxes or the like. Where no maximum length exists with the heatsink. The main advantage is that these types of heatsinks are more than those of the tower type that they cool the areas around the motherboard base.
- Type of heatsinks machine: Probably the widest heatsink format among users. These models are shown for having cool versions fitted properly, forming a tower (or several). As of today, this type is the most effective in medicine. When we talk about heatsinks in spirit, of course. Its main drawback is that its large size means that the boxes in which it is placed must be wide enough to be able to place them.
