In it weekly blog post, Bungie explained what he started doing Conclusion 2Recent trends in the complexity of time, including inspiration from the 1997 painting Canadian cult horror film people trapped in a vast labyrinth filled with death traps, Cube.
"This puzzle seemed to fit well with the concept of time lines, with players interacting and stretching for a long time to find the exact truth," the studio wrote on the blog. “The first ideas for this space were based on the old-school movie concept Cube, where you could leave one door and end up entering another room with a new death track waiting for you. ”
Without spending too much of a movie, which is predictable Hi series, five strangers wake up in a cube-shaped room with a house on each side leading to a similarly constructed room. The rooms, full of unique symbols and colors, have traps drawn in unexpected ways, and the group tries to use mathematical and psychological means to find a way out, only to discover that, as always, not everyone can be trusted and real danger to their fellow captives.
Bungie's puzzle is a shiny, uplifting story, but it takes on the same basic structure: the recurring maze to stop players from knowing whether they're developing or not. To solve it, players had to come together, share a picture of the mysterious symbols and interpret them go to the main map. “Like other old movies, it's like Alice in Wonderland either Matrix, this space and the way we interact together are created to ask questions such as & # 39; How deep is the rabbit hole? Can you just go on and on forever? & # 39; And again & # 39; Is there an end to this? & # 39; ”said the studio.
This philosophy is reflected in the Pentathlons employee of the studio year, where one team creates a series of puzzles for all parties to solve. "This is always up to unresolved puzzles without having to participate in every little solution," Bungie said. "Similarly, Corridors of Time puzzles are designed from scratch to be very simple in nature, but I also need all the small bits to come together before presenting their solution."
In the end, everyone should play a part in resolving time zones, which Bungie says is his ultimate goal. That is different from previous requests, such as Sleep Simulant and Whisper of Worm, for example, when people first discovered them had a monopoly in the sense of mystery; everyone who came shortly after using the solution. The Corridors of Time puzzle, meanwhile, has been able to stretch things all week, giving many people a chance to feel part of the adventure.
While Bungie nailed those aspects of the puzzle, the end result of the players was not found to be satisfactory. The reward was Bastion, an unusual external gun which had been misleading in the Season of Dawn marketing weeks, as well as a "thank you for playing" congratulatory message. This week, Bungie makes Bastion available to everyone, even those who have not yet completed the Corridors of Time, make very little reward
