The super spy organization is getting new life.
Director Robert Rodriguez is set to return to the popular Spy Kids franchise to reboot skydance. The first Spy kids The film, starring Antonio Banderas, Carla Gugino, Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara, premiered in 2001 and followed two children who discover their parents’ secret lives as international super spies. The film spawned two sequels and one type of sequel that was largely a new film with different characters in the same world.
While Rodriguez is known for action thrillers, he’s also made a name for himself as a director of bespoke action comedies. In addition to the Spy Kids films, Rodriguez also directed the cult classic from 2005 The Sharkboy and Lavagirl adventures in 3D
