For the past few years, Hasbro has been chasing two of the best Transformers toys: a complex, costly, collectible Cybertron battle with a simple, cheap cyberverse line, with its friendly and lighthearted designs a YouTube series with pictures. Hasbro unveiled the latest toys for each line at the New York City Toy Fair this weekend, and I love the fun Cyberverse designs.
As exciting as it has always been for the War for Cybertron sub-lines, Siege and now Earthrise, bringing out new types of toys I enjoyed as a teenager in the 1980s, Hasbro has always pierced my scream. It is old and old, until the new Scorponok figure, which I have been expecting for decades, does nothing.
Where can I reach another 2-meter Transformer ,? How quickly do I get started with clicking and pasting its large joints before taking up space on the shelf next to some of the biggest bots I haven't been dating in years?
Meanwhile, in the new Cyberverse line, there's a cow, full of helmet. His name is Battle Call Trooper Wild Wheel. The War Call Trooper bit means his clear weapon, a cheap yet cool gimmick.
He is not a big deal. Judging by his bare legs, they are dull and weightless. But he is unique, and he has his style and personality.
The cyberverse, which isn't overwhelmed by the need to rename old projects, is free to make cool new explorers like Thunderhowl.
Once again, cheese is cheap, but it actually looks amazing.
Even though the cyberverse line leads to nostalgia, that does it in a very entertaining way. Here is the War for Cybertron: Earthrise version of the Autobot Arcee unveiling this weekend.
And here is the Cyberverse version.
Both of these figures are simply a women's robot dressed in a car, but the Cyberverse version is extremely powerful and exciting. And he doesn't stand by himself. Mix regularly.
I don't buy as many Transformers as I used to. I have a really big place in my house of things. But if I buy Transformers these days, there's a 10 percent chance of a cyberverse more than the $ 20 Cyberron Warfare of my childhood robots. Cyberverse items are just as fun, as toys should be.
