A few days ago we told you about a new rumor around the franchise of Silent Hill, in which the original team from the first games was supposed to be working on an upcoming title.
As well as the possible reconciliation between Hideo Kojima and Konami, through Sony, to revive the famous P.T. Silent Hills.
Konami's statements in this regard
However, it was just that, rumors. Now a representative of Konami North America explained to the medium Rely On Horror than that informati on is false
‘We are aware of all the rumors and reports but we can confirm that they are not true. I know it's not the answer that fans want to hear
So it was all a lie. Sony will not buy the IP of Silent Hill, and if there was a next game it would not be exclusive for him PS5.
Further, Kojima also not working on Silent Hills, or anything related to the franchise.
Silent Hill's future
Finally, the representative of Konami added:
‘This does not mean that we are closing the door completely to the franchise, only that it will not be in the way it is being reported in the media.‘.
Which means that the franchise, at least, is still alive in some way and we could see future projects about it (although we don't know when this will happen).
The only thing fans hope is that it is not a mobile game … or another pachinko machine.
The last franchise title was released in 2012 with Silent Hill: Book of Memories.
Although what we will have will be another film in the series, confirmed by the director of the first film Silent Hill (2006) Christophe GansThe film is currently in development.
